Who We Are
Makutano Group is a diversified, multi-sector holding company headquartered in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. We take an active role in the governance, strategy, and execution of our operating businesses, building integrated ecosystems that address structural challenges across East Africa.

Centralized Strategy, Decentralized Execution
Makutano Group operates with centralized holding governance and decentralized subsidiary operations. The holding company sets strategic direction, allocates capital, enforces governance standards, and manages cross-sector synergies.
Each subsidiary operates with its own management team, P&L responsibility, and operational autonomy within the group's strategic framework. Shared services including finance, legal, HR, IT, and ESG are provided by the holding company.
This structure enables entrepreneurial agility at the subsidiary level while maintaining strategic coherence, risk management, and governance standards at the group level.
